Kellie Bloxsom is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute and a Senior Designer at Hallmark Cards. She is originally from Flint, Michigan and has been creating art (and a mess) ever since she can remember.

My inspiration for my work comes from observing colors and shapes in the world around me. I am drawn to create pieces that have an imperfect, simple, honest quality. My primary medium is collage. Collage allows me the ability to combine painting, drawing, mark-making, and cut paper into one final package. I work in tandem creating both abstract and icon pieces. In my abstract work, I let my intuition lead the direction of the piece. Abstract work helps me simplify the themes in my work and silence my ego. In my icon work, I push and pull and stretch the shapes of my subject matter to create dramatized images of icons. Most of the inspiration for the icons I work with comes from the natural world I observe on walks.
